I’m back again with another fun and simple DIY project in partnership with Oriental Trading Company! This time, it’s a project that will help you answer the question, “What will I use as my Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue?” I loved getting to make a custom bracelet using the beads and other supplies from Oriental Trading Company – but what’s really great about this project is that you can easily use it as a bouquet charm as well if you don’t want to wear it as a bracelet.

Listen to The Bouquet Toss Podcast:
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

This project is super easy to customize because you can choose beads styles and colors that you want to use! Just add your beads to your bracelet loop and customize with charms! This design uses beads and charms to fulfill each category:

  • 1 – Something old: a coin from your birth year
  • 2 – Something new: an engagement ring charm
  • 3 – Something borrowed: a line from a love poem in the locket
  • 4 – Something blue: the blue beads on the bracelet

I love the variety of bead styles, colors, and designs that Oriental Trading Company has in stock on their website. So many unique options to choose from!

This project was incredibly simple. All you have to do is add the beads on your bracelet chain. A few of the charms required adding jump rings to attach them, but otherwise, they were easy to slip right on the chain.

The result is a simple but meaningful piece of jewelry to wear on your big day!

Not up for wearing the design as a bracelet? Consider wrapping this around your bouquet instead as a bouquet charm! Carrying these traditional items with you on your big day is meant to bring you good fortune and happiness.

Doesn’t it look so pretty on this bouquet by BellaFloralDesign on Etsy? I just love it! (PS, check out this shop — they make gorgeous custom fabric bouquets!)
