What do you get when you combine a sassy American girl, a tall handsome Norwegian, and all of their closest family and friends? One stellar celebration! Alicia and Ståle met while in Europe and it was almost like love at first sight… if love at first sight includes exchanging the wrong information on accident but then finding their way back together! These two have quite a fun personal story so of course their Florida wedding day had to include all sorts of stunning, unique details!
At Last Wedding + Event Design guided this couple throughout the planning process, helping lift the stress so they could enjoy this season together. Their elegant ceremony had a touch of vintage-charm, being hosted at the historic Casa Feliz museum in Winter Park, Florida. It really was the perfect setting for their American-Norwegian ceremony, and we love that it was performed in both languages.
A romantic, tented reception, full of chandeliers to give off the most lovely glow created the perfect setting for their outdoor dinner. Farm tables adorned with long garlands full of coral charm peonies from Peddles Flowers, inspired the pops of color incorporated by the amber and pink glassware from Treasury Rentals.
We know you’ll love this romantic spring wedding so beautifully captured by Tara Libby Photography. Make sure you catch some of the details that the bride, Alicia, shared with us.
Tell us about your wedding day.
Our wedding day was amazing and it was the first time our families were together! We are so blessed that many of his family and friends flew in from Norway. It was very important to us that we kept both our American and Norwegian traditions. My favorite detail, was definitely our ceremony. We had it officiated in both Norwegian and English languages. I also loved the Norwegian flag socks that all the guys wore!!
What inspired your wedding design?
We wanted it to be unique, elegant, modern and glamorous. We went with neutral tones, yet had pops of color with our florals. I wanted my bridesmaids to be comfortable and stay unique to their style, so I had them pick out their own dress.
What is your advice for other brides?
It’s about you and your fiancé. Nothing else. It’s also easy to get stressed about RSVPs. A lot of people told us they could go the week of the wedding or event the day before-but it wasn’t possible for us since we had already given the final numbers to our venue. Don’t feel bad about turning people away, it’s impossible to accommodate everyone. It is your day, don’t forget that!
We love the elegant and romantic feel of this couple’s wedding day, but appreciate the pops of personality they added in with the beautiful spring color palette. It made for the perfect spring garden wedding!
