You can’t help but notice the timeless quality of these engagement photos, and what more timeless location than Central Park in NYC? The colors were perfect and came through on the film with warmth, and the mix of classic black and white photos made this session feel like a storybook.

from the photographer: “Alexandra and Johnny wanted their engagement shoot to have a timeless quality and opted to shoot half on color and half on black and white film. Alexandra and Johnny have known each other since high school and reconnected years later. As we walked around Central Park we ended up by the Loeb Boathouse and they excitedly recounted the story of one of their first dates where they took a rowboat around the park.We ended the session by grabbing martinis on Park Avenue. Martinis were a must for Alexandra and Johnny’s engagement shoot. When I asked about what made them tick as a couple they answered quickly: their dachshund Stella, Sushi and good dirty martini”

How did you meet?

We met in middle school and were very close friends. After high school we started to become really close and Johnny broke out of the friend zone. We now have been dating for over 7 years and we have not only an amazing relationship but friendship.

Tell us about the proposal.

We had planned a night out with our friends at City Vineyard on the west side. Johnny was rushing me to leave and get ready quickly since we had an early reservation. We then arrived and johnny is always behind me but he was leading the way this time. He then made a right on to the pier where there were all different boats. He then said “I have a secret, we are not meeting Olivia & Luke we are going on that sail boat right there.” I immediately thought to myself omg it’s happening. He then popped the question right along the west river on a 92 degree day and it was the most perfect moment of my life. Our family then met us at the dock when we pulled up and it was so special and so amazing.
