Adventure awaits: a travel themed wedding

We absolutely love a travel themed wedding. I’m not sure if it’s because travelling is one of our favorite things to do, my love of all things globe related,  or if it’s just the way the travel theme is such a literal visualization of the new journey a couple is starting on their wedding day. Whatever the reason, we are all-in, and the sweet Mississippi wedding of Katherine Butler and Jarod Saucedo really got us with all of the globe-trotting details.

The invitation suite announcing “Adventure awaits” included map paper with a photo of the happy couple, a detail we adored. Of course there were directional signs, vintage luggage and trunks, and globes in all shapes and sizes including a clear glass globe the couple used as a guest book they will be able to keep and display as a precious memento for years to come. We really liked the way they included a variety of transportation options in their details as well, but it was the cake that provided the wow factor. A three tiered confection with marbled and gold leaf fondant, the cake was perched atop a vintage hat box and topped with a small black globe. Guests were treated to the cutest custom cookies and take home bags of popcorn thanking them for “popping by” before our adventure-loving newlyweds took off for their honeymoon in Reykjavik, Iceland. We wish them a lifetime of safe and happy travels together!
