Amalfi Coast Wedding Inspiration in Philadelphia

This shoot was inspired by the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Italy. A color palette of yellow, blue, and white with a lemon theme evoked a joyful and warm feeling. This wedding inspiration shoot took place at the Valley Green Inn, nestled in the Wissahickon Valley in Philadelphia. Behind the inspiration and design of this shoot is florist Amanda Elisca of Made with Love Florals. From Amanda, “One of the main things I regretted about the pandemic was missing my chance to attend a wedding in Italy. I have always wanted to travel to Italy, and it has been at the top of my bucket list for over a decade now.

So, when pondering a theme for our shoot, that’s when all the thoughts of missing out on such a wonderful chance came to mind. I wanted something refreshing and vibrant; something that would lift the spirits and inspire others to enjoy all that life has to offer. One of a couple whose beautiful Amalfi coast wedding was canceled and brought back home to Philadelphia, where they laughed at adversity and still got married when life handed them lemons.”

In their own words

What was your design inspiration?

I wanted something refreshing and vibrant; something that would lift the spirits and inspire others to enjoy all that life has to offer, even when staring at the difficulties the pandemic has created. With so many delayed weddings now being changed and rescheduled this year, I thought of the shoot as a way to showcase a similar love story. One of a couple whose beautiful Amalfi coast wedding was canceled and brought back home to Philadelphia, where they laughed at adversity and still got married when life handed them lemons.”

Describe your flowers.

The ceremony features a gorgeous white and blue patterned rug and comfortable, eclectic lounge seating. A light blue welcome sign greets guests as they enter the intimate and airy space. The ceremony’s focal point is a floral circle arch filled with yellow roses, white orchids, and lush greenery, with glass tea light globes floating within the center.

Describe your cake.

A two-tiered wedding cake exemplifies the uniqueness of blue and white Italian tiling with lemon slices and orchids to complete its sophistication.

Tell us about your attire choices.

The beautiful bride stunned in a flowing off-the-shoulder and lace-appliquéd Mila Isabella wedding gown. She completed her look with a fingertip veil, a delicate necklace, and a gorgeous cascading bouquet filled with white orchids, bright yellow roses, and touches of blue delphinium. The groom wore a slim navy suit paired with a unique floating orchid boutonniere lapel design.

Describe the tablescape elements.

The reception design features a modern white table with wooden Baldwin chairs and a creamy beige patterned area rug to create an Italian feel. The tablescape elevates the coastal villa theme with woven chargers, floral patterned plates, and thoughtful lemon place cards. Gold flatware and candle holders add just the right touch of elegance. Lush compote arrangements fill the design with bursts of yellow and white wedding florals. A floral chandelier of greenery and lemons creates the illusion of a fruit tree overhead.
