Blue Seaside Wedding at the Adamson House in Malibu

"Eric and I grew up in Connecticut, 45 minutes away from one another, but met in Los Angeles in 2010. He had moved to California a few months prior, and I was still in college but traveled out West to work on The Golden Globe Awards during my final winter break. We met through a mutual friend, spent a few days together, and the rest was history. I was already planning on moving to Los Angeles after graduation, so living on the same coast as Eric was an unexpected perk! We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our lives on both coasts; New England charm set against the West Coast oceanside. Most of our family traveled from the East Coast for the wedding weekend, so our dream was to give everyone a taste of California we love so much. We envisioned a soft, romantic, seaside color palette and our wedding planner, Events by M and M, and our florist, VavĂ© Studios, captured the vision perfectly.

We found the Adamson House in Malibu and immediately fell in love with the venue, the location, and its historical significance. Built in 1929 on the coastline, the home is a designated California Historical Landmark and State Park and is best known for its extensive tile work and blend of Spanish and Moorish design. We were able to offer house tours during cocktail hour and our guests loved this unique addition to the wedding day. Our best friend was ordained and married us; he set a beautiful and lighthearted tone for the day. One of the many highlights was right after our vows. For the first time, we turned to look out at all the guests, seated across the lush green lawn in front of the seaside. Being able to see everyone we love together in one place, especially those who had traveled great distances to celebrate with us was a beautiful moment we'll never forget. Other unforgettable moments included our private first look and the joy on Eric's face when he realized I had flowers in my hair, the impromptu Girls vs Guys Dance Battle, the sonnet my brother wrote as his Man of Honor speech, and dancing with our loved ones as the sun set behind us with popcorn lights twinkling above our heads.

All our vendors went above and beyond to help us throw a celebration we will cherish forever, as evident by Mary Costa Photography's incredibly captured moments. Our guests enjoyed custom homemade popsicles from The Pop and Pop Shop Truck, dined on Command Performance's delicious food and Top Tier Treat's scrumptious (and secretly vegan) cakes, snapped photos in The Booth & Bus Co.'s VW Bus Photo Booth, and danced under the stars to Gold Standard's absolutely astounding set. Eric and I would do it all over again if we could. The day was a perfect reflection of us as a couple, and hands down our favorite day ever."
