What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
For a guest book at the reception, we had everyone sign baseballs since we were avid Atlanta Braves fans. Instead of a groom’s cake, we provided a S’mores bar since the groom didn’t care for cake too much.
Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?
My wedding planner and I created, printed, and cut the ceremony programs for guests.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
Kept our guest count low and decided not to serve alcohol at the wedding.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Not everything is going to go your way, but that’s okay. You have tons of support behind you to help the process go smoothly.
What was your biggest splurge?
The dress! It was perfect in every way and I don’t regret spending the money on it one bit.
What was your favorite detail?
Probably the splashes of rose gold (one of my favorite colors) spread throughout the ceremony and reception. It made everything look so classy!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
After the ceremony ended when my husband and I walked out of the chapel together, we just looked at each other, smiled, and both said, “We did it!” at the same time! We were so happy at that moment. He could also admire my dress better and he couldn’t get enough.
The Brides’ budget was a strict $10K but she paid for her makeup and hair out of pocket to help cover costs. Also, the groom paid for his suit and the groom’s traditional part of the flowers.
