Each and every moment and detail from Liz and Phil’s Virginia wedding feels both intentional and meaningful. These two became best friends before they ever started dating, and I love that Liz says that helped her feel as though she was dating her future husband when their relationship became more serious. From their ceremony overlooking the lake to the coral and sage color palette, each and every rustic-inspired detail was thoughtfully planned to never overshadow the views or their lovely venue, The Planter’s Club. Guests dined on a buffet filled with Southern fare, wished the newlyweds well as they excited through sparklers, and then rejoined the couple at a diner to rehash the night (in wedding attire no less!). There are few sweeter first looks (emotional grooms are my favorite!) or better ways to start your Monday than diving into this wedding captured by Jeffrey Ocampo Photography and planned by V List Member Michelle Amarillo Events!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My family and spare time were both very limited. Having Michelle was the best decision I made for my wedding.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Someone that just vibes with my interests, and knows my taste.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My venue’s history and appearance sort of guided the feel of my wedding. It has an old rustic southern feel to it.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

I have to pick just one thing?! Gosh… Everything was so awesome that the best part was that everything went off without a hitch and everyone had an amazing time. Definitely memorable.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

On my wedding day, I got wrapped up on all that was going on, all of the distractions and all the pressure. Whatever you do, take a quiet moment with your new spouse to just stop and admire the moment and your new union, and share how special it truly is to one another.

Isn’t this design just so perfect? And aren’t they the cutest?!
