The timeless style and classic details of Kimberly and Dennie’s Los Angeles wedding day made for a beautiful celebration with just the right amount of personality to make it pop.
They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day as they exchanged their “I Dos” and enjoyed an evening of family and friends at Skirball Cultural Center in LA. A clean modern style with a gorgeous outdoor space, complete with lush landscaping and lily pad ponds, offered a neutral and elegant setting for their style. With guidance from their planner, Wish Wonder Dream, and the bright pop of flowers designed by Flower Allie we love how their overall style was simple and classic with a splash of bright pink to create a perfect palette for their spring wedding. Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
Although we have been to alot of weddings, I was never the type that had envisioned my wedding to be a certain way. So when it finally came to wedding planning, I was very overwhelmed. Luckily, after a few wedding venue walk-throughs, we knew that after walking into the Ahmanson Hall at Skirball, we knew that was the one. From there, the vision started to come together, with the big help of Pinterest. I’m not a huge color person so I wanted it to be as minimalist as possible, but just a hint of pinks and green.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We really wanted everyone to have a good time. Having been together for 6 years when we got married, all our friends and families became our biggest supporters and we wanted them to have as much of a good time, as we would.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
The first look was my favorite part. With all the morning anticipation and chaos trying to get to the venue, it was so nice when I got to see Dennie. It felt as though all my stressed just melted away, as cheesy as that may sound.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My family was very involved, but to be honest, Dennie and I look the lead on everything. We wanted to take on the challenge of planning a wedding and seeing how difficult it could be. It is very time consuming, but it can all be done.
And as many of you know, one of our favorite wedding details comes in the form of incredible signage. In case you missed it, make sure you backtrack to catch the gold mirrored seating chart that is leaving us with heart eyes! We love this more modern detail that adds a fun punch to their design!
