A Colorful Boho California Wedding

We are head over heels for this colorful California wedding! Wanting their wedding to reflect their own laid back personalities, Alli and Rob’s day ended up being a perfect blend of fun and relaxed. Taking place at the industrial event space of Smoky Hollow Studios, they subtly incorporated their shared love for beer into their details, including custom glasses at each placesetting for guests to take home. A boho style was the perfect choice for these two, and adding in floras by Floret Moon Designs in pops of pink, peach, and greenery created a perfect look! With the help of ‘Cause We Can Events, Alli and Rob’s dream wedding day was made a reality, and we are so glad that Chloe Moore Photography captured it so beautifully!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Our coordinator and month of planner Gabby helped tremendously!!! She kept her cool and made sure that everything on our day was completely perfect. We knew going into our day that there may be hiccups, but we honestly didn’t experience anything (to our knowledge) major to upset the day.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

The most important thing for us was *hands down* for our guests to have fun. We made it a priority to make sure that we were having fun, and in turn our guests were having fun. Also, we are sensitive people, and we both wear our hearts on our sleeves. We wanted for WORDS to be important on our big day. We made a point to write our own vows, and tell our loved ones how much their words meant to us. We ended up with some incredible speeches, that we will remember forever.

One thing we chose to splurge on that we are SO grateful for is our video. Jes at Luna Bay Films did an incredible job documenting our day. We feel so lucky to have footage of our day in such a BEAUTIFUL video!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding.

We wanted our wedding to feel like a true representation of ourselves. We are both pretty relaxed and “go with the flow” people, and I think that naturally our wedding and vibe ended up that way also. We wanted our guests to have FUN…that was our biggest priority. We loved the industrial look of Smokey Hollow, and finding such an amazing venue in our hometown area just felt right. It was an interesting idea and a little bit of a challenge to bring such a relaxed vibe to such an industrial space, but somehow it WORKED! We both love beer, and that was an underlying theme of the event as well. Rob brewed over half of the beer for the day, and we had custom glasses made for our beloved guests. Being a spring wedding, bright colors just seemed so natural and right.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

We can honestly both say that our entire day was our favorite. One moment that stood our to both of us was when we danced to Talyor Swift’s “Shake it Off”. It was the moment after the stress of the getting ready, and the ceremony, and the speeches, where we finally relaxed. It was so much fun and it was our personal cue that it was time to start having fun.

Oh, and how AMAZING are those bridesmaid dresses?! We love how the mismatched look turned out… and those patterned dresses are FAB! Are you thinking about doing mismatched dresses at all for your own wedding? What color palette are you going with?
