There are so many aspects of the wedding day that you can DIY to save some money, and one of my personal favorites is the wedding invitations! While I definitely appreciate luxurious paper goods, it’s not necessarily the best place to invest a large chunk of your wedding budget.

I like to encourage couples to place their monetary focus on aspects of the wedding that enhance the guest experience, and let’s be honest… wedding invitations don’t really fit the bill. I love sharing resources that will help you save money on those necessary but not exactly splurge-worthy parts of your wedding day.

You might remember the DIY Magnet Save the Dates that I created in partnership with my friend Jen from Something Turquoise. We received so many requests for a matching invitation suite that I just knew we had to create one to coordinate with that design!

After all, having coordinating paper goods is one of the ways to fake a luxe look for less!

The best part about these free DIY wedding printable files is that all you need to edit them is Canva! Talk about #budgetsavvy!

DIY Free Printable: Swirl Wedding Invitations

Before we get started, make sure you have the proper supplies on hand.

Supplies Needed:

Using the Free Printable Files

First thing’s first! Get the printable templates by entering your details below.

There are two different options– print yourself at home or print via Canva or another online printing service.

Enter Your Wedding Details into the Templates

Customize the files with your wedding information and wording using Canva.

Choose the paper you’d like to use to print your invitations on. I recommend choosing a cardstock-weight paper, at least 80lbs, in a light color so the black design stands out and remains readable. This cardstock from PaperSource is a great option!

Print Your Invitations

Print your designs onto your cardstock using your printer. I love the Canon MG7720 and use it for all of my projects.

Trim Your Invitations and RSVPs to size

The files are designed with multiple copies per page, so you’ll need to trim the pieces using a paper trimmer or paper cutter. Just follow the cut guidelines that are on the design – it couldn’t be easier!

By placing multiple pieces per page, you’ll use less paper, and therefore you’ll get the most out of your paper purchase. I really like to design these things to make them as cost-effective as possible for you!

Place in Envelopes and Send!

Voila! You’ve got gorgeous and professional-looking wedding invitations for a fraction of the cost of purchasing them online! I personally love to see these paired with a black envelope.

I prefer euro flap envelopes for wedding invitations, and Paper Source has them in various colors!

You could address the invitations using a Silver Sharpie for an extra dose of glam! Check out how the different colored cardstock changes the look below.
