Industrial Glam Wedding

Colours like copper, black, and antique gold showcase the industrial glam wedding theme perfectly. The bride’s gown is stunning in gold with black tulle. Roses dipped in gold are exquisite.

Why not consider the industrial glam wedding theme for your special day? It’ll be an incredible day that guests will be sure to remember.

Details for an Industrial Glam Wedding

The industrial glam wedding is one that features a paradox – soft, romantic touches with industrial grit. The industrial glam wedding is going to feature geometric shapes, metal, wood, beautiful floral arrangements and lots of industrial lighting. Canopies of hanging Edison bulbs make the perfect ceremonial backdrop, and the reception should also feature lots of industrial lights.

The venue may be one where the walls feature what appears to be wall paper or painted paneling torn away to reveal wood or metal beneath. Look for decor that offers lots of wood and metal, and concrete floors in the venue are not uncommon. For this reason, set a budget with lots of money allocated to decor.

An industrial glam wedding need not be held indoors exclusively, however. You can set up an outdoor venue with the same metal, wooden, and lighting decor as would be used indoors.

What to Look for in a Venue for an Industrial Glam Wedding

Industrial glam weddings fit perfectly into once neglected or abandoned spaces including former factories, warehouses, or converted lofts. Traditionally unappealing details such as exposed brick, peeling paint, visible pipes, and cement floors become strikingly beautiful when decorated for a modern wedding.

When looking for a venue for an industrial glam wedding, be sure to seek a similar unusual beauty for your big day. The venue itself can lend to the theme, and you won’t need to add a lot of decoration to play up the industrial glam theme. Think of the venue as a shell – four walls (the more exposed pipes or brick, the better), a roof, and a floor. This bare bones venue offers you the opportunity to start decorating with a clean slate.

Food for an Industrial Glam Wedding

The great thing about food at an industrial glam wedding is that brides can throw tradition out the window. Caterers who plan to serve appetisers or simple finger foods – particularly if they are favourites of the bride and groom – can feel free to do so.

At the same time, if you feel the need to serve a four-course meal, you are equally able to do so without getting away from the theme. You can provide a more traditional meal, while others may offer a taco bar or a loaded potato bar. Anything goes for the industrial glam wedding food.

Budget for an Industrial Glam Wedding

It’s important to remember that an industrial glam wedding means less is more. However, venues chosen for an industrial glam wedding are often considered bare bones, with nothing included but the space itself! Therefore, think about some not-so-expensive items you can choose that will denote the theme without breaking the bank.

Find geometric shapes, plan for a unique dinner at the reception, and, if you must invest heavily in anything, make it the lighting. The lighting at an industrial glam wedding is highly important, and it can set the entire mood for the event.

Bouquets and Boutonnieres for the Industrial Glam Wedding

Because there is so much room for choice, the bouquet need not be one that fits a traditional mold. Some brides choose a cascading bouquet that not only makes a statement but is totally eye-catching. Other brides decide on a bouquet of bright pink peonies, which are smaller but definitely add a pop of colour. Add spirea vines so that the cascade effect is achieved without overwhelming the look.

One of the traditional colours of an industrial glam wedding is white, so a bouquet of peonies, roses, and anemones will be beautiful and fitting to the theme. Want a bouquet with colour? Consider a berry bouquet – fringe tulip, scabiosa, and sweet pea. Not only will the bouquet look beautiful, but it is also fragrant!

Boutonnieres can be made from dried flowers and paired with greenery to carry out the industrial glam wedding theme.

Groom Style for Industrial Glam Wedding

A black suit and tie combo is a classic and timeless choice for the groom's wedding attire. However, the industrial glam wedding may call for a more unique look. The groom can actually opt for a gray suit rather than a tuxedo, and some grooms are even pairing a print button-down shirt with their Sunday suit.

Other grooms will choose a charcoal gray suit with a vest for the big day. They’ll forgo a bow tie, but choose a regular tie for the big day.

Wedding Invitations for an Industrial Glam Wedding

Soft florals paired with concrete and metal details are sure to create a subtle romantic feel. Geometric prints are the hallmark of this design style, and no industrial glam wedding is complete without a few sharp, shaped accents.

Look for a font that suits the industrial glam wedding invitation style. Those with straight, smooth lines and hard edges are a great choice. You can also use fonts with exaggerated curves for a more elegant look.

Wedding Cake Ideas for an Industrial Glam Wedding

Many brides are opting for a rustic cake when planning an industrial glam wedding. The rustic cake is inspired by blooms, berries, and Mother Nature herself. Some of these rustic cakes include the naked cake, which offers very little icing, sugared flowers and sugared fruits as accents. However, not all rustic cakes are naked. In fact, some of them are covered with buttercream with a rough exterior.

Think about burlap or dark ribbon to wrap around the cake. Use jute twine as part of the decorations. Sometimes the cake is often topped with fruit or flowers rather than a traditional cake topper.

Reception Decor for an Industrial Glam Wedding

When it comes to reception decor, think of geometric shapes. Fashioned from bronze or copper, hang circles or triangles from the ceiling. Don’t forget to emphasise lighting as well. Stay away from bright, LED lighting, but opt for vintage looking lighting fixtures or hang Edison bulbs from the ceiling.

Add more greenery than flowers to the reception hall for the industrial glam wedding. Also, consider adding different metals to the decor. Use metal table numbers and candleholders. If you plan on using signage, make sure it is metal or wood. You may also want metal chargers to go with the dinnerware for the reception.

Ceremonial Decor for an Industrial Glam Wedding

Brides will want to emphasise lighting for an industrial glam wedding ceremonial decor. While we’ve suggested hanging Edison lights, this isn’t the only way to provide a romantic glow for the nuptials. Hang fairy lights or holiday string lights (remember, no LED, though). These lights can be draped from the windows or across a ceremonial arch.

Speaking of arches, forgo a wooden ceremonial arch and go for a metal arch. Lighting may be draped across the arch, as can floral arrangements. Aim for a look that incorporates some wood, some metal, and some soft touches such as flowers.

We chose an unoccupied industrial setting near downtown Honolulu to give a beautiful juxtaposition between utilitarian style and glamour. Bliss & Bones‘ marbled wedding invitation suite inspired the tabletop that Moana Events styled. Flooring tiles were flipped upside-down to show more texture and contrast with the pearl-inspired rose centrepieces designed by Florist Grand.

The place settings were set with antique gold flatware, hand-written love poems from Hawaii Calligraphy, formal black linen napkins, and it was all topped with a single bloom. Copper wire was added to Black Louis ghost chairs and also carried through on the cake topper.
