How did you meet?

I decided to pick up an extra shift at work that week. One of my co-workers asked if I wanted to go out with them that night, normally I never did but for some reason decided to that night. Good thing I did because I met my husband!

He was friends with my co-worker and ended up hanging out with us. We hit it off, talked, and laughed all night. The following week he asked me out on our first date and we’ve been together ever since

What is your proposal story?

For weeks I had been hinting around and say little things about a ring since Christmas was approaching. His response was always “we’ll get married but it won’t be anytime soon.” Around the first of December, he asked me if I wanted to go to dinner at a local restaurant, it was where we met, but also somewhere we ate at quite frequently. As we were about to walk out the door I asked if we could just go to Mexican instead. Little did I know he had planned on proposing that night at the restaurant, but he let me eat Mexican instead and ruin his proposal plan.

When we got home I noticed he was shaking and he was standing in the doorway with the color drained from his face. I asked if he was ok and he didn’t say anything. So I asked again and he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I instantly responded with “are you lying? Is this a joke?” followed by “YES!”

Tell us about your wedding vision.

We decided to elope to have a day completely stress free and centered around us. We wanted simple but beautiful. After looking at HUNDREDS of wedding venues all over the country we finally decided on Chapel Dulcinea. It was a small, beautiful outside chapel and exactly what we had been looking for. We loved everything about our stress-free elopement at Chapel Dulcinea.

Tell us about your attire choices.

Patrick chose to wear a khaki suit which was surprising because, for one he hates khaki and two, he prefers black or darker colors.

My wedding dress was a bridesmaid dress that I found online. I ordered a sample of the dress and loved it and it also came in ivory so that’s exactly what I ordered!

What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

To have a stress free day! We didn’t want to have to worry about anything but us that day. We didn’t want a schedule or a traditional wedding, so our Chapel Dulcinea elopement was absolutely perfect for us.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

My favorite part was saying our vows to each other. I remember looking at him and I couldn’t stop smiling.

After the ceremony, we ate at Salt Lick BBQ (which was delicious) and it was our first time in public and husband and wife. It was a crazy, good feeling looking across the table and thinking “that’s my husband”

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

My wedding flowers were extremely last minute. We had the Uber driver stop at Wal-mart and I bought three small bouquets and some lace. On the way, I pieced together the flowers into a larger bouquet and tied them with lace!

Tell us about your wedding cake.

We did not have a cake, but we did have a piece of pecan pie and ice cream to share at Salt Lick.

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

My mom made my veil. Since she wasn’t there that day, it was still a way she got to be apart of my day
