How many guests did you have?

We had 13 guests.

How did you meet?

We met in our local club, Satchmoes, many years ago.

What is your proposal story?

We went to New York for New Year’s Eve in 2016. Matt proposed over the whispering wall ceiling at Grand Central Terminal. It was beautiful. He was in one corner while I was opposite and he asked me to marry him… When I turned around he was on one knee! I walked over to him in tears while the crowds cheered. It was magical!

Tell us about your wedding vision.

We wanted a Vegas wedding because we aren’t really a traditional couple, but we still wanted something classy! We found the Grove and it was everything we wanted and more. The gazebo surrounded by greenery was so picturesque, we knew it was the perfect venue.

Tell us about your attire choices.

I found my dress during one of my first bridal try on’s, but neither my Maid of honor or mum liked the dress. I dreamt about it for a couple of months then went back and purchased it alone. Noone saw my dress choice until the wedding day!

For the groom’s suit, we wanted something summery and lightweight. We went for light blue two pieces for the father of the bride and the best man and a three-piece for the groom.

What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

We did everything on a budget really. Our biggest expense was, of course, the wedding venue which included food and an open bar. Other than that it was our photography and videography but I would spend every penny again and more in a heartbeat. They were brilliant.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Bride: We managed to get all the guests on the dance floor just for a little while and we had a little dance-off. This is a fond memory we still laugh at now.
Groom: the first glimpse of Clare was amazing. A moment I’ll never forget.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

We didn’t like traditional roses. We went for sunflowers and daisies… Fun and colorful!

Tell us about your wedding cake.

The bottom tier was vanilla and salted caramel and the top tier was chocolate with raspberry mousse. It was delicious!!!

What did you do for favors?

For favors, we had personalized poker chips and personalized love hearts. We got candles for a little extra for the ladies and also had hand fans and personalized confetti for the ceremony.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Don’t worry… Embrace the madness!
