Q&A with the Bride and Groom, Brittany and Brandon:

How did you meet?

Brandon and I met at Neiman Marcus in Denver. I was working in sales and he was working in Security - a forbidden relationship! He used to bring papers up to my department to have me sign that I had nothing to do with! He was pretty shy and a about a year into working there on St. Patrick's Day I was leaving work in my VW Beetle and (accidentally) almost ran him over in the parking garage. Don't know how I missed him since he was wearing a bright green shirt. I rolled down my window, apologized and asked him out to a drink. The rest is history!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

The vision for the wedding was a Rococo Marie Antoinette theme. I grew up loving Marie's aesthetic and fell more in love with it visiting Versailles in college. The colors were pale pink and pale blue with a few other colors like a pale seafood green, white and more. The style was glamorous yet vintage, and a little French Provencal. The touch of ostrich feathers added a bit of whimsy and the hedge walls and florals created a French garden vibe. For the garden theme what better place than the family home I grew up in. It was sentimental and perfect for the occasion.

Tell us about your attire choices.

I knew I didn't want a traditional white/ivory dress and desired something with color. I was torn between going the blue/seafoam route or pink. When I found this Tara Latour gem it was unique, different, beautiful, and suited the theme of the day. I felt like a princess! The fringe and appliqués made the dress feel even more special. It was a dress I had't seen on anyone - it was for me!

Seeing as I chose the blue/seafoam for my dress, I wanted to outfit my bridesmaids in the complimentary pink shade of the day. Monique Lhuillier is a name synonymous with fashion and I loved the two-piece look which was also something a bit unexpected and different.

For the gentlemen the tan tuxedo exuded sophistication, but it was still light and airy for the color palette and the temperatures in Colorado in September.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

Being true to who we were was most important to us. My background is in fashion so I definitely took an interest in the aesthetic of the day and the attire. Brandon and I both were super focused on everyone having a wonderful, unforgettable night!

We skipped a grand exit at the end of the night (we were still on the dance floor with our guests into the wee hours of the morning!).

We splurged on blue-color Champagne - what a fun touch and lots of lighting/candles. They really do a wonder for ambiance.

What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)

Of course seeing my soon-to-be husband at the end of the aisle was the most special moment of all and the look on his face. Taking communion together was another special moment. And finally that moment right after the ceremonial Father/Mother dances when everyone gets out on the dance floor was the BEST! Our wedding attendees came from all over the nation and the world, it was this beautiful combination of cultures, languages, faiths, all coming together to celebrate.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

Pure summer garden romance. Ivory, blush, Champagne and pale seagreen blue. Shimmery gold accents, crystals and candlelight. Romantic garden blooms like garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus, lisianthks, garden lilies, silver brunea berries, succulents, and dusty miller. Seeded eucalyptus, Italian Ruscus, and trailing smilax.

The bouquet: Handtied with a variety of garden roses in Kiera, white cloud, mythos and charity, seagreen blue hydrangea, powder blue succulents, Faith roses, Champagne and white dinner plate dahlias, blush snowberry, blush and ivory spray roses, powder blue foliages, with white ostrich feather accents. Finished with a blush ivory wrap accented with remnants of the bridesmaid dresses.

Groom wore a miniature powder blue succulent accented with an ivory ranunculus accented with spray roses and silver brunea berries wrapped in blush and ivory.

Bridesmaids wore half-crown flowers in their hair. Flower girls wore halos and had floral wands.

Bridesman wore a fancy boutonniere of small white ostrich feathers, garden rose, and sprays of silver brunea berries.
