Growing up boating with her family, it was only natural that Brittany’s love for all things nautical rubbed off on her soon-to-be husband, Colin. When it came time to decide on the location for their destination wedding, the Naples Bay Resort was the perfect option for Brittany and Colin’s nautical wedding. Add in a striking color palette of coral and blue, fabulous nautical details, and the most amazing florals, and we have the gorgeous, stylish wedding of Brittany and Colin! With stunning images captured by Hunter Ryan Photo, this wedding absolutely made my heart go pitter patter- and I think it will do the same for you!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My parents were amazingly supportive and helpful with planning. We really couldn’t have had such an awesome weekend without them. I also had a phenomenal army of friends who went above and beyond when I decided to tackle a few DIY projects. Don’t be afraid to ask – and a little bribery of food and wine never hurts!
And I definitely have to give credit to my coordinator, who was very helpful during the planning process, particularly on our actual wedding day. If I can offer a single piece of advice, hire a wedding planner. At the very least, for the day of coordination. I didn’t have to worry or stress on our wedding day because I knew I was in good hands. It’s worth every penny. Seriously.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I wanted to connect with vendors who had good, fun personalities and that I knew would deliver quality. We made a list of our top priorities and where we knew we were willing to give and take on the budget.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I grew up boating and it’s now something that my husband and I love doing together. It’s a big part of our lives, so it was a natural inspiration as a starting point for our wedding details.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Getting to spend time with all of our friends and family. It’s really an incredible thing – having nearly all of your best friends and family in one place at one time.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Let me repeat…DAY OF WEDDING COORDINATOR. The day of your wedding shouldn’t be spent worrying about the details. That’s what you’ve spent the last few months doing. Relax, drink some bubbly, laugh (and cry) with your friends and let your coordinator take the reigns. And above all – stop and look around and take it all in!
Oh Brittany’s advice is so perfect! We of course totally and completely agree!
And can we please talk about the escort display? A combo of “sails” and “flags” as escort cards? LOVE!
