How did you meet?

We actually went to the same high school but were many grades apart. Years later, we met up on a dating website (so millennial of us)!

What is your proposal story?

We went to Gatlinburg, TN for a week on vacation, and on a rainy day, he took me on a motorcycle trip to a mountain. He then took us hiking up a trail (but didn’t tell me I needed good shoes that day!!) and later hiking up a muddy mountain.

The trail kept getting longer and longer. Eventually, there was a downpour, so I said: “Screw this!” I was super mad at him and in order to save the day and my mood, he whipped out the ring and proposed!

Tell us about your attire choices.

Jillian: My style icon is Jayne Mansfield. So I immediately knew I needed to be a blonde, bodacious bombshell in whatever I was going to wear. On top of that, it’s Vegas baby! I needed to emulate the town. And being far from traditional, I knew a white dress wasn’t going to be for me. So gold, sequined, high leg slit… love it!!!

Vince: My favorite color is purple and I knew my soon to be wife would be wearing gold, so what goes amazing together? Purple and gold!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Jillian: We had our ceremony at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign with an Elvis impersonator. So standing there, with all those tour groups taking pictures of us, I felt like royalty! After, we did a Las Vegas Neon Sign Museum photoshoot and then went around Fremont Street with Carrie Pollard. She is probably one of the best photographers we’ve worked with. She has such a vision and we have all of the photos she took hanging around our home.

Vince: I think it was the first look down at the Flamingo Waterfall. She looked like a vision in gold!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Enjoy it! Don’t stress! And sometimes going the cheaper route (eloping in Las Vegas was a bargain) is the way to go! Have your ceremony be the epitome of you and your partner; don’t bend for anyone else. It’s your day. You’re going to remember it for the rest of your life.
