How many guests did you have?

We had 300 guests.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

I used decorations from my sister’s and my brother’s weddings. My Mom and my sister played a huge role in helping me be creative with the décor and helping save money that way.

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

Pinterest was a huge help! My mom, sister, and I created our centerpieces beforehand and took pictures so we knew how we wanted everything to look and we boxed everything together. We figured out how many centerpieces we needed and came up with five different designs that we used throughout the venue.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

DIY projects! We saved a ton by DIYing centerpieces and reusing decor from my siblings’ weddings.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Number your guest RSVP cards, because sometimes people RSVP and forget to put their name on them and you are left wondering who the RSVP is from.

Make sure you have enough time for photos, I was so happy we did most of our photos before the wedding ceremony because it gave us more time with our guests afterward.  I wish we would have started the family photos earlier. Cody has split families so his family photos were a little rushed so we could start the wedding on time. And NEVER go cheap on photography you want your photos to last a lifetime and I LOVE our photos. I couldn’t be happy with Courtney June Photography We get so many great compliments about how our wedding photos were amazing and that they’ve never seen such beautiful wedding photos.

What was your biggest splurge?

For decorations, we bought glow sticks too because I thought they’d be fun ☺ So I splurged on those (a HUGE HIT by the way). Our other splurge was the cake… we could have gone to other places and gotten it a lot cheaper or just have done sheet cakes, but we wanted something that we knew would taste amazing and I really wanted a tiered cake.

What was your favorite detail?

I loved the flowers my mom and sister and aunt planted for the ceremony site. I love the horses that brought my dad and me down to the ceremony. I loved the helpful staff members at the apple orchard and how they brought my guest down to the ceremony site with a tractor pulling the wagons and back to the reception. I love how the band sounded and how the food tasted. I loved how the photos turned out, I loved seeing all my family members and close friends celebrating with Cody and I. Most of all I loved seeing my husband cry when I was walking down the aisle. I loved that our wedding was outside and the wedding was us. It was a perfect day. It was our fairy tale wedding that came true.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Seeing my husband cry. He told me many times before the day of the wedding not to get all “sappy” on him the day of the wedding. And what does he do… he got “sappy” on me, hahaha
