Riverside Elopement Wedding Inspiration

I have such a jam-packed week for you guys, and we’re starting it off right with this absolute delight of a styled shoot from some of our fave suppliers at one of our fave venues! Take the riverside setting of Mofam River Lodge in Elgin, add in some deep wintery jewel tones and a tablescape that’s equal parts vintage and glam, decked with wild, opulent blooms, and you have the perfect recipe for rustic elegance. And let’s not forget the stylish bride and groom – she in a gorgeous champagne two-piece gown with 3D floral detailing (with hair and makeup done to perfection by SBB Directory member Sketch & M) and he in a suave blue suit. So much pretty, and all beautifully captured by Nerize Raath!

Here’s a bit of background from the styling team:
As we head into winter, there is no need for a sense of melancholy to fill the air. Endless inspiration can be drawn from the raw beauty of nature and the great outdoors. An assortment of earthy tones underpinned by rich purple hues creates a sophisticated and mystical look and feel. This together with the calmness of nature accentuates the tenderness and simplicity of young love, making this an ideal location for an intimate elopement.

Mofam River Lodge & Wedding Venue, situated on the shore of the Palmiet River, offered the perfect backdrop with its mountain views and pine tree forest. With nature remaining the core focus and main inspiration for this styled shoot, floral arrangements were also kept organic as far as possible, with variety of greenery used. Décor consisted of a whole range of different elements fused together – vintage table and glassware as well as a collection of candles. A softness was added to the table setting by laying down a sheer grey table runner. The colour palette was inspired by the natural surrounds and showcased a mixture of textures and various shades of brown, green, pops of deep purple and hints of copper. Raw wood was a key element of the earthy tones. The shoot features a real couple; the love between them was clearly tangible. The makeup and hair was kept natural, remaining true to the theme. Then there is the dress, breathtaking in every way: a full champagne coloured satin skirt paired with an intricate lace top. The lace forms a pattern of leaves with hand-stitched 3D-flowers to create depth to the bodice. Nerize Raath Photography captured all these elements perfectly, creating a cohesive aesthetic and effortlessly portraying the atmosphere of affection and beauty.
