Romantic Wedding at The Athenaeum at Cal Tech

"Our vision for our wedding started with wanting something more rustic and classic but eventually shifted to something more soft and elegant when selected our venue. We loved that the Athenaeum is both indoor and outdoor, with a beautiful soft canopy at the center surrounded by tall classical arches and columns. The golden warm architecture of the venue inspired us to go with a dusty purple and gold accent themed wedding colors.

We looked all over Los Angeles and Orange County with a strong preference for something rustic. However, in the end, we both agreed that a location close to home was most important to us and felt lucky to have found the Athenaeum! We loved the idea of getting married in the city we both lived, dated and would start our lives together in.  We love that the location was close to home and set on a prestigious landmark with classical architecture and building nestled around a beautiful neighborhood. We also liked the flow and variety of spaces from starting at the lovely courtyard for the ceremony, leading to the interior formal cocktail room and followed by the beautiful terrace for the reception. It was also a bonus when we later learned that the first place Emery stepped foot in when he arrived in Pasadena was to attend summer school at CalTech. We are so happy with our venue choice and always think fondly back on our magical day whenever we drive by the venue."
