Ruby Cora Wedding Venue: Shades of Green Legacy Styled Shoot by Music City Events and Billie-Shaye Style featured on Nashville Bride Guide

Shades of Green Legacy Styled Shoot by Music City Events

Paying tribute to not only the roots of love, but the generations of family, this shades of green legacy styled shoot by Music City Events is bound to inspire. The idea came from the story behind a tree gifted to the owner of the family venue where the shoot was hosted, Ruby Cora. Not only is the design filled with modern, earthy, and stylish details, but the meaningfulness will also captivate your heart. See the beauty of these photos by the talented Billie-Shaye Style along with more information about the design below!

Tell us about the shoot vision.

Heather: The vision of this shoot was inspired by the personal stories of rich heritage that owner, Marcia Clark, shared during a venue tour. More details here!

What was the theme and what inspired it?

Heather: “Legacy” was the theme & it was inspired from the fact that the venue land is part of a century farm (farms that are continuously owned by a single family for 100 years or more).

What details were used to create the theme?

Heather: THE TREE: When Marcia’s Grannie Cora (named after her Grandmother Cora) passed away, Marcia received a small, gnarly ficus tree that belonged to her. It was not much to look at and barely a foot tall. Over the years Marcia has grown the twigs into the stunning goliath it has become. We wanted to focus the theme of the styled shoot around this tree, to honor the the legacy of growth and hard work that make beautiful things last a lifetime. We honor the concept of investing our love, our time, our money, our energy & our hearts into something we believe in – Marriage.

RENTALS: To honor the years of toiling the land this venue sits on. We wanted to bring the earth inside, with lots of greenery and a garden party feel. -Their “Leaf Velvet” linens and “LT Olive” napkins even called to us by their natural names! To honor the many memories shared around the tables on property, our style for place settings was traditional and elegant. -The Trieste Chargers and B&B plates reflects lovely china patterns passed down from generation to generation. A way for us to incorporate the modern touches of the venue, was to feature the color black instead of standard white. -The Matte Black Heirloom Dinner plate reflect the black ceilings above and mimic the texture of the concrete floors below. At first glance, the Liberty Gold Rimmed glassware tied in with our classic bell theme, but upon the suggestion of Liberty, we shifted to the – Melodia Cut Crystal set…and I am so glad we did!

THE BELLS: The 40’ tall bell tower at The Ruby Cora is named after Marcia’s great-grandmother, Lula Belle. She would ring a dinner bell for her husband when he needed to come in from working for the night. Marcia rings the wedding bells as a nod to her past and to give the nostalgic feel to weddings.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?

Heather: For us at Music City events, it was so nice to partner with professionals who took the reigns on organizing this event. We at Music City Events (Heather & Lindsy) are both so accustomed to doing so much work ourselves, that we felt so out of place (in a good way!) with all the help and setup that the entire team offered. We were spoiled with this shoot, and each of the vendors did such phenomenal jobs with making this happen…we literally just showed up and like made the beautiful flatware settings straight.

Were there any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Heather: Personally, I (Heather) was 9 months pregnant and Lindsy was amidst the beginning of Covid-19 navigation with her spring couples. This was also just a few days after The Nashville Tornado devastated so much of this city that we love so much, and we were physically and emotionally spent from volunteer efforts. It was such relief to have so much of this event ready when we arrived, because we probably weren’t at our fullest capacity to set this up solo.

This just goes to show what beauty can bloom when we invest time and love into what matters! Great job to this vendor team and huge thanks for Music City Events for sharing this shades of green legacy styled shoot with us!
