Lyndsay and Nathan (Nate) used sunflower florals, but gave it a totally different look with the white and gold fabric. She was in a stunning figure-hugging dress, and he looked extra sweet with his cowboy hat. His dad surprised him by bringing the car they restored together, a corvette, for Lyndsay and Nate to make their exit.

How did you meet?

Nate and I met at work. We actually met a few years before that but he got transferred to another dealership. When he came back to the dealership that I was at we started talking more. After a few weeks of getting to know each other we had out first date. Nate and I are actually from the same area in Ohio and actually grew up about 20 minutes from each other. So we both knew all of the good places to eat and our favorite little spots. Our first date was my favorite. We decided to make a spontaneous drive to Orlando (about 2 1/2 hours away from where we live) to go to this fast go-kart track. We spent hours laughing, racing, and getting to know each other more and more. I remembering smiling the whole time.

What is your proposal story?

Nate proposed! When we started talking about our future there was only one thing that I wanted for our proposal. I wanted my niece and nephews to be there. They are very special to me. So we flew to Ohio to visit with them for a weekend and to also go to our big fair and demo derby that happens in our town. Nate’s parents were there for work and his brother flew in with us to all spend the weekend together. His parents had rented a cottage at Lake Milton (a little lake where everyone would go during the summer time) and it was a place that both him and I went to as kids growing up. On our second to last day there, his parents suggested that we go to this little pavilion on the lake to take some family photos. Not thinking anything of it, I just put on a little makeup and threw my hair up LOL. Once we got there, we took pictures of my niece and nephews, his parents, and then his dad said they needed one of Nate and I. We were standing here getting ready to take the picture and Nate dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately started crying because he is the man I prayed for.

He proposed with his Great Grandmothers Engagement ring which fit me perfectly. It was a gold solitaire with a yellow diamond (yellow is my favorite color). The whole thing was a dream come true!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding

We decided on an East Tennessee wedding because we both love Tennessee. I have been to Nashville a few times and to Gatlinburg. Our close family friend owns property in Seymour TN. So we usually go there a few times throughout the year for vacations. I actually came across the Chapel in the Hollow while browsing venues for a friend. Once I found out that it was only 15 minutes from our favorite vacation spot I knew it was where we wanted to get married.

Sunflowers, light blue, and yellow are my favorite ????

Once I saw they offered they sunflower decor I was sold! Nate & I are both country kids and wanted a rustic, in the woods wedding!

Tell us about your attire choices.

For my dress I wanted something beautiful and simple. It was my last dress I tried on and when I did, I knew immediately. It was a beautiful white, form fitting dress. I had a slit put in the dress so I can show off my sunflower cowboy boots ????

Nate decided to wear his Levi’s, a simple button down shirt, and a tan jacket. Of course we added the cowboy hat with his cowboy boots and belt buckle.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We both decided from the beginning that we wanted our wedding to be small and intimate. Just our close friends and family. That day was about us and we wanted it to be memorable!????

What were your favorite parts of the day?

OMGOSH. That day was a dream come true! I had my best friends and my niece next to me. Having them there and helping me get ready was so surreal. I remember I wasn’t nervous until I got to the chapel and was getting ready to put on my wedding dress. Then all the butterflies started! I could hear Nate speaking to his family outside the little room I got ready in and I just remember thinking “I’m getting married to this man, the one I prayed for.” When my mom started walking me down the aisle and I saw Nate my eyes just started tearing up! He had some tears as well ????. Our ceremony was performed by our good friend and Pastor and it was filled with the most beautiful words to unite us as one. After the ceremony was over we got to take the most beautiful pictures of us, our friends, and our family! We took pictures by the cute little chapel, by an old truck (which is cool because Nate is a mechanic), in this open area with beautiful Mountain View’s, and lastly with Nate’s dads Corvette! This was a surprise! His parents trailered the Corvette from Florida just so Nate and I could drive away in it after our wedding????Nate was surprised to say the least! It meant so much to him because him and his dad restored the Corvette together. We decided not to do a traditional reception, instead we went to this cute Country kitchen and had an intimate dinner with our family and friends. Once we were all done, Nate and I and our friends went and rode the mountain roller coaster ????

The entire day was everything we wanted!

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

My bouquet was made by the Venue. I decided to make the bridesmaids bouquets with flowers from Hobby Lobby.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

My engagement ring was Nate’s Great, great grandmothers. I had my great grandmothers handkerchief wrapped around my bouquet.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Wedding planning can be stressful! But just take a moment and think about what you and your loved one want. It’s your day! No one else’s. Go with your gut and what is going to make you both happy. If something doesn’t go as planned, don’t worry because you are the only one who knows how it was supposed to go.

Enjoy the beautiful union and be excited!
