Sweet Outdoor Engagement Session with High School Sweethearts

An engagement between a couple that started their love story in high school is always a feel-good tale that gives us butterflies. Emily and Cameron met during these crazy years, and while Cameron was immediately smitten, Emily realized that his heart was in the right place after pursuing her for sometime. Exactly four years after they began dating, he sweetly took her to a bridge they always walked to during their dating years and you can guess what happened next. Meridith Lee Photography graciously shared E + C’s photos and they are beautiful.

How did you meet?

We met in our church youth group as 16 year olds. We were best friends for years and Cameron pursued my heart throughout our time as students. As we got a little older I realized how much he had pursued me and I decided to give him a shot as my boyfriend. Our love for each other only grew since then and continues to as we have been facing long distance for the last 3 years.

What is your proposal story?

There’s a historical bridge in our home town. Since the beginning of our relationship we’d always end our dates there to walk and talk, just the two of us. On our four year anniversary date, Cam ended our date night in the usual spot of this bridge so I expected nothing out of the ordinary. That night, Cam got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him as his wife. Tears flooded my eyes and I said “YES!”

Tell us about the ring/band.

I’ve always told Cameron, I wanted a ring that complimented me and matched me. I told Cameron I wanted to see something different every time I looked at my ring (no pressure right… haha) I left it up to Cameron to pick it out, and he picked out the most perfect ring for me. It shines like no other ring the details are incredible, yet the simplicity of it fits my taste.  I still often stare at it in awe.

Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.

One of the first thing I did after being engaged was look up dresses online to wear for my engagement photos. After I scheduled my photos with Meridith, I knew exactly what I wanted. My mom found the beautiful white, midi dress for me. It completely matched what I was looking for. Classic, timeless, sweet, it truly embodied the look I was going for. The yellow dress made me feel stunning. I love the way it looked and turned out in each and every photo. I knew the lace and details would photograph so well.

The dresses were so much fun to pick out, but my favorite part of every outfit is the shoes and for this look I really wanted a classy look which is why I chose the traditional strappy nude heels. I couldn’t be more excited with how my look turned out. I love dainty and meaningful jewelry and my necklace I’m wearing is just that. It is a bar necklace Cameron got me right after getting engaged, engraved on the front reads “Emily” and on the back my last name to be “Malone” It’s seriously one of my favorite things I own in this world.
