Here in New Zealand lambs are frolicking in the field, the sun is rising earlier and blossom fills the trees. For so many of you though it is the opposite, as you wave goodbye to Summer and welcome the cooler days of Autumn. And so for today’s inspiration board I wanted to create a palette and look that is beautifully befitting of all seasons….

And I think this is perfect! Emerald is one of those colors that looks just as lovely whatever the season, especially when kept simple and paired with dusky greens and silver greys. This is a palette that will look crisp and cool for a Summer wedding, but would just as easily look enchanting against a snow white Winter backdrop and festive for an elegant Holiday season wedding!

Whilst I created the inspiration board with more of a Spring or Summer wedding in mind, with an outdoor reception under a light adorned tree, it could just as easily be an indoor wedding, in a stately room of a country house, or perhaps a refined take on a barn wedding – think velvet chairs, candelabras and chandeliers rather than hay bales, lanterns and mason jars.

As is often the case, the simplicity of the palette is what keeps it chic. So whether you’re having an indoor or outdoor wedding, go with plenty of greenery and sweet smelling seasonal blooms. But to add interest, luxury and warmth – especially for a Fall or Winter wedding – be sure to layer textures and metallics.
